Easy Apple and Berry Crumble

Apple crumble is one of our easy, go-to-desserts for a weekend treat. This recipe is super easy. I actually don't even measure, I just use my usual feels-right measurements. I tried to calculate it out though, for the purpose of recording here:

INGREDIENTS
Crumble

  • 115g plain flour
  • 80g butter, chopped
  • 100 whole almonds
  • 50g rolled oats
  • 50g brown sugar
  • 50g shredded coconut

Filling

  • 5 apples quartered (and peeled if you want, I don't always bother)
  • 25g butter
  • 30g brown sugar
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • handful or frozen or fresh berries.

METHOD

Filling
Prepare apples as desired. I just chop and quarter mine, I don't peel or core!

Place apples in your TM bowl and chop  5secs/Sp3.5-4.  You still want them to be chunky so really we are after the minimum speed and time that will chop them.  Place cinnamon, sugar and butter into the bowl cook 3mins/90'/Reverse/Sp1

Place apples in a baking dish and scatter and berries over the top.

Topping
Don't wash the bowl. Place all of the topping ingredients into the TM bowl. Mix on Closed lid/Turbo for a couple of seconds until desired consistency. You still want the butter to be in chunks so do not over-process.

Bake at 180 for 30min or until browned. Serve with ice cream or custard (made in the Thermomix, of course!)

OPTION
You can use a large can of tinned apples instead of fresh apples for an even quicker method

  2. Thanks for this easy recipe. I cooked the apples slightly in the TMX with the butter syrup. Just to soften them before putting it in the oven with a TMX pizza.
